

Greg Robinson

Greg Robinson has been teaching 5th-8th grade band in the Little Miami
Local School District in Warren County, Ohio for 9 years. He graduated
from Eastern Kentucky University with a saxophone performance degree and
has a masters degree in education from Wright State University. His
professional playing experiences include: an appearance on the Grand
Ole Opry, Carnival Cruise Lines, Opryland USA, The Van Dells, Kings
Island, Kentucky Kingdom and has played the National Anthem for the St.
Louis Rams and the Cincinnati Reds. He maintains a busy schedule
freelancing with numerous groups around the Cincinnati area and is a
regular member of Sax-O-Peel and the Warsaw Falcons. His first solo
smooth jazz CD "The Karma Bank" was released in 1999 and was nominated
for best CD by the Cincinnati Enquier's Cammy Awards.

Jerald Robinson has been involved in Ohio music education for over 30 years; first teaching for two years at Cedarville High School, then eight years at Amelia High School, eight more years at Kings High School and retired after twelve years from the music faculty at Lebanon High School. Mr. Robinson's groups have received accolades at many festivals and contests throughout his career and have performed at many special events including the 1984 World's Fair held in New Orleans. He was also responsible for the Tri-State Jazz Festivals of the 1970's.
Mr. Robinson earned his bachelor of arts and education degrees from The Ohio State University, majoring in music education and music composition. He also holds a Master of Education degree from Wright State University. He is a member of MENC, OMEA, A.S.B.D.A., Phi Beta Mu and holds honorary membership in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Mr. Robinson has received the OMEA 25 Year Award, was inducted into the Lebanon City School Hall of Fame
in 1994 and has served as a board member for the American Federation of
Musicians local 321.
Mr. Robinson is currently active as a
clinician, adjudicator, arranger, soloist and guest conductor. He maintains an
active performing schedule as the leader of the jazz sextet, "Finale" and
saxophone quartet "Sax-o-peel". Recently Mr. Robinson has recorded a CD of
standards with pianist Lowell (Woody) Woodrey and a CD of gospel swing as a

Don Kelly

Mr. Kelly, a Cincinnati native, is a longtime freelance woodwind specialist in the surrounding area, specializing in saxophone, clarinet and flute. He has studied with numerous individuals including Jack Van Wye, Joe Gaudio, and Virgil Wilson. Mr. Kelly has performed with the Jack Valz Big Band, Nightwatch Combo, and the Cecil Young Orchestra in addition to his duties as alto, and tenor sax player for Sax-O-Peel. When not playing Mr. Kelly is employed by the Indian Hill School district and runs his own lawn care business. |

Mr. Thompson received a degree in music education from Miami University and
has spent a year in graduate studies with Trent Kynaston at Western Michigan
University. Mr. Thompson spent four years performing at Paramount's Kings
Island, and has played with notable musicians including Chris Vadala, Dennis
Diblasio and Frankie Vallie. Mr. Thompson stays busy with his duties as
baritone saxophonist for Sax-O-Peel, and as the tenor saxophonist for the
50's, 60's show band Hot Wax, as well as freelancing in the Cincinnati area.
When not playing Mr. Thompson is employed as the music director for
Blanchester Local Schools, and spends time as a songwriter with his
collaborator Dan Barger. |
